The police on Sunday stopped activists of Ganajagaran Mancha at Shahbagh in Dhaka to rally against indiscriminate killing of people going beyond any judicial process in the name of anti-drug drives.
The activists of the platform began gathering in front of National Museum and as they tried to bring out a procession police barred them claiming that they had no prior permission to hold such demonstration.
In the face of police obstruction, the platform convener Imran H Sarkar announced same programme on June 6.
He said killing unarmed people in the name of anti-drug drives one after another has put the judicial process of the state before questions. It creates example for administration to ignore judiciary which is against the states order, security and justice.
