Mahmudur Rahman Manna, convener of Nagorik Oikya and Oikyafront contender for Bogura-2 constituency, said “sheaf of paddy” is the symbol of democracy while “boat” stands for autocracy.
Manna said he is hopeful of landslide victory. “But the ruling party is plotting to snatch away 50 seats (from Oikyafront) by illegal means.
“We will stay on the battle field till December 30," he said at a press conference in at Press Club today, our district correspondent reports.
Manna alleged that his main election office has been vandalised by AL activists who have also tore down his posters.
He urged the journalists to unveil the truth as the ruling party is also trying to control media.
The AL is not following Bangabandhu's ideologies at present, he alleged.
